Cuts & Shapes of Brown Diamonds
Like near-colourless diamonds, brown diamonds can be cut into almost any shape.
Octagonal
Sometimes called emerald cut, this is usually base on an oblong, with cut corners, but can be based on a square instead, as shown. From a gemmological point of view, square is better than oblong, as it can be closer to the perfect proportions of a round stone, whereas oblong stones must necessarily be less than perfect proportion.
